E; 24th MO Infantry: 10 Feb. 1862--1 Sept. 1865 3 yrs 6mos, 21 days; gunshot in right hip and chronic diarrhea in Libby Prison. By 1920 his wife, Ruth VERDON and all 7 children had died. He began wandering fields calling for them and was found to be of unsound mind.
