A, 53rd Tennessee Infantry would most respectfully repersent that I was Conscripted into the Rebel Service at Prospect, Tenn on 5th of September 1861 and forced to bear arms against the Govermant of the United States against my will and consent, as I have always maintained the principles of a true and cordial Union man. Therefore, I would further represent that I deserted the Rebel Army at Atlanta, Georgiaon 3rd September 1864 and voluntarily surrendered myself to the 1st Missouri Calvary in order to avail myself of the Amnesty Proclamation, and that I do not desire to be returned South in exchange but would respectfully ask that permission be granted me to take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States, that i may again enjoy the priveleges of an American Citizen. A, 53rd Tennessee Infantry would most respectfully repersent that I was Conscripted into the Rebel Service at Prospect, Tenn on 5th of September 1861 and forced to bear arms against the Govermant of the United States against my will and consent, as I have always maintained the principles of a true and cordial Union man. Therefore, I would further represent that I deserted the Rebel Army at Atlanta, Georgiaon 3rd September 1864 and voluntarily surrendered myself to the 1st Missouri Calvary in order to avail myself of the Amnesty Proclamation, and that I do not desire to be returned South in exchange but would respectfully ask that permission be granted me to take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States, that i may again enjoy the priveleges of an American Citizen.
