    2. Hello Everyone This is my first message to the list. I am in need of help. I received from the US Archives data regarding my gr. grandfather, which follows. Commissioned/appointed Capt. 28 June 1862 by Maj. Gen. Hindman, SC, at age 25. Captain in the 25th and later the 30th Arkansas Infantry. Company H of the 30th McNills Regt and Company D of the 25th. Capt. GREEN Don BYERS, enlisted at Pineville, AR. He helped organize Co H of the 30th Ark Inf Reg't. He is on the roster of Co H. (This is the second 30th--Harts Reg’t). Co H, 5th Reg’t Trans-Mississippi Arkansas Infantry Sept 1862 Co H, Rogans Regiment when killed (known as 30th Reg’t Arkansas Infantry McNills Reg’t 3rd Brigade. From Confederate archives, Ch 1, Vol. 109.5, page 174. He was mortally wounded at Helena on Jul 4, 1863 (Hart’s Reg’t). Captured by Major Gen. B. M. Prentiss at Helena, AR, 4 July 1863. Transported on US Hosp Ship SS R. C. Wood to Officers’ Hosp, Ward G, Memphis, TN. Died in Memphis Hosp 18 Jul 1863. I have not been able to locate his burial site. Are there hospital records I can research that might tell me what I want to know? There is no record of his burial at the Confederate Cemetery in Memphis, TN. I appreciate all help I may receive.
