I am interested in any accounts which give me some idea of the life and conditions in two CW prisons, "Military Prison" in Louisville, KY and "Fort Delaware" in Delaware. My g-g-grandfather, a Confederate soldier of The Army of Tennessee, Company D, 3rd Battalion of the Mississippi Infantry, was captured by the Federals December 1864 in Franklin, TN. He was in the Kentucky prison in Louisville and then transferred to Fort Delaware, according to National Archives records. Any information on these two camps would be greatly appreciated; or if anyone out there knows of an individual who does lookups for these two camps, I would appreciate knowing where I may contact that person.
