Confederate, soldier in the Army of Tennessee, WILLIAM EATMON DOOLITTLE, Co. D, 3rd Battalion of the Mississippi Infantry. Promoted to Sergeant 14 June 1862 and to Second Lieutenant 1 March 1863. Captured 17 December 1864 in Franklin, Tennessee; imprisoned at Military Prison, Louisville, Kentucky; transferred (date unknown) to Fort Delaware, Delaware. Forwarded to City Point, Virginia for exchange, 27 February 1865. Surrendered by Lieutenant General R. Taylor, CSA, and paroled at Grenada, Mississippi 19 May 1865. Residence Calhoun City, MS.
