    1. [CW-POW-L] Re: Roll Call: Carter of TN
    2. David Orr
    3. LeRoy C. Carter fought on the side of the Confederacy in the Civil War. He enlisted Jun. 9, 1861, and his rank was Sgt. in Tennessee's 17th Infantry, Company K. Although LeRoy Carter was listed as captured at the Battle of Chickamauga, Sep. 19, 1863, no records of him have been found from a Prisoner of War camp. After the war LeRoy C. Carter did return to his hometown of Granville in Jackson County, Tennesee. He moved in Arkansas about 1872, where it seems he changed his name to Robert W. Orr (partly to avoid horse theft charges). He died there in 1936 at the age of 95. -----Original Message----- From: Sue <morgana@ghg.net> To: CW-POW-L@rootsweb.com <CW-POW-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, December 29, 1998 6:55 AM Subject: [CW-POW-L] Message from Listowner... >We are now over 220 members... > >Why don't we make a roll call list of our CW POWs?
