CUTT(S) GET-TOGETHER Several listers have expressed interest in a Cutts 'Get-Together' so that we can meet other listers, bring along our own researches, compare notes, and generally assist each other to break down any brick walls, find mutual ancestors etc. A provisional booking has now been made for this to be held on Sunday September 22 2002 at the Village Hall, Ashover, Derbyshire. Ashover is a modern hall, with a large car park, well placed for visiting Matlock and the new Derwent Valley Heritage Site, which affords many interesting activities for any family members who do not wish to spend the day 'digging up the dead'! Would ALL THOSE INTERESTED please reply to me (off list) as soon as possible and BY FRIDAY JULY 12 LATEST letting me know - whether you wish to attend, and number in party. - an appropriate start time, considering distance to travel. - suggestions as to what we should try to include in the programme, e.g. speaker, display of family charts, photos, etc. - whether you will wish to stay overnight locally and need a list of accommodation or addresses of Tourist Information Centre, etc.. (Some may wish to meet others on the Saturday evening for a meal. Some may wish to extend their weekend to visit Matlock Record Office on the Monday and we could make provisional bookings for readers, computer, etc. ) We already have some ideas as to the format of the day, but we'd like your ideas too - it is a day for all of us. I appreciate that some people may be on holiday and not receive this message until after the 12th but we do need an initial idea of numbers attending in order to start to make arrangements.
