: The information in the Pigots 1830 Nottinghamshire directory was of great interest. : : In the Pigot 1822 edition, the Cutts Wharfinger business on Leen Side Nottingham was under the name of John Cutts, who I suspect was the John Cutts, christened in Shirland who was the son of George Cutts and Francis Herod, and brother of Lavinia and William. : : In the Pigot 1830 edition the business is under the name of Hannah Cutts, presumably his wife. They would have been married about 1808 but there is nothing appropriate in the IGI. Does anyone have a list of Cutts Nottinghamshire marriages, e.g. a NFHS list, which might help to solve the problem of when they married and who Hannah was? The other possibility is that she was his sister Hannah who was christened in Shirland 17/4/1779. : : The William Cutts listed in the 1830 Pigot as being in the hosiery business at Wellington Place Retford was definitely the William who was the brother of Lavinia and son of George and Elizabeth. In the 1841c he was living at Wellington Place Little Gringley with his mother Fanny who was 85. : : All help and suggestions would be appreciated, : : : Cheers, : : Brian :
