Greetings, I've been working on a project of transcribing vital records from the old newspapers of San Benito Co., CA -- the other day I ran across this & thought the CUTTS list might like it. I'm not related to these folks (as far as I know), but I do have some CUTTS in my family tree. Hope this helps someone, Dee ********************************** >From The Free Lance Hollister, San Benito Co., CA 7 Dec 1894, p. 1 -- CUTTS-HAIN Nuptials -- Thanksgiving morn dawned bright and beautiful over Bear Valley, one of those lovely little valleys for which California is so famed. But long before the suns rays had touched the mountain tops the inmates of a modest home were up and stirring. The occasion was one of no little importance and the event about to take place meant much in the lives of two persons and those connected with them. One of the rooms had been suitably decorated with ferns and flowers. Time sped on and at 8 oclock a few relatives and friends of the principals had gathered there. At a few minutes past 8, Albert W. CUTTS led Miss Carrie HAIN before the assemblage, and Elder MORSE with the simple but impressive marriage ceremony of the Presbyterian church, pronounced them husband and wife. After congratulations an adjournment was made to the dining room where under skillful hands a bountiful repast had been spread of which after partaking all voiced the sentiments of the grooms father, who wished he could do it all over again. At half past 9 the happy couple started for the train enroute to Pacific Grove for a short honeymoon after which they will be at home at the Riviera Orchard near Live Oak, Sutter county. We will not attempt to describe the brides dress as we are not versed in the language used in the Delineator. Suffice to say it was elegance itself. The presents were numerous and costly. There were present, besides the contracting parties, Mr.&Mrs. A.D. CUTTS, of Marysville; Rev. Mr. MORSE, of Hollister; Miss Nellie SNOWDEN, of San Jose; Mr.&Mrs. John HAIN; Mrs. Wm. HOOTON, Mr. Guy HOOTON, Miss Mabel HOOTON, Mr.&Mrs. A.T. HAIN, Mr.&Mrs. J.B. ROOT, Mr.&Mrs. S.C. HAIN, Misses Mary and Sadie HAIN, Masters Frank and John HAIN and Misses Edna and Effie ROOT. p. 8 -- Married -- CUTTS-HAIN -- at the residence of the brides parents, Bear Valley, this county, Thursday, Nov. 29, by Rev. Mr. MORSE; Albert W. CUTTS, of Liveoak, Sutter county, to Miss Carrie J. HAIN. [The bride is the charming daughter of Mr.&Mrs. John, of Bear Valley and we but re-echo the wish of scores of friends that the happy pair may never know what adversity means, and that no clouds may ever darken the journey through life just begun. After the honeymoon Mr.&Mrs. CUTTS will make their future home at Riviera Orchard, Sutter county.] Transcribed by: Dee: CASanBenito0001 http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/CA/SanBenito/index.html http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/usa.html
