Thomas Butler CUTTS b.14.6.1856 Radford m. Lizzie GOTHARD in Nottingham John CUTTS b.4.6.1830 Radford m. Elizabeth STATON/STATHAM in Nottingham John CUTTS b.20.11.1801 Radford m. Mary BUTLER in Radford (parents of another Thos.Butler CUTTS,(1828-86) Lace Manufacturer of Malvern House, Nottingham.) John CUTTS b.c.1771/2 Arnold m. Ann BENNELL from Findern in Nottingham William CUTTS bapt 15.8.1745 Arnold m. Mary LEAPER of Arnold, in Arnold John CUTTS bapt 3.10.1714 Shirland m. Hannah WAKEFIELD of Arnold in Arnold THIS IS MY BRICKWALL - looking for a Joseph CUTTS (possibly bapt 1673 at N. Wingfield) who may have been married circa 1705 to a Mary.........in the area around Chesterfield/Shirland. Hopefully then I will link back to Ralph Cutts=Elizabeth Amrie marriage in 1630. In addition to researching my direct line of CUTTS I am also attempting to link as many of the family groups as I can to trace their movements. There are many families whose work was allied to the canals and waterways who can be found in Staffordshire.Leicestershire/Lincolnshire/Derbyshire and Manchester areas. Many of the CUTTS worked or lived on land owned by the various titled landowners connected with the Duke of Devonshire/Duke of Portland/etc. The area of the East Midlands we are researching was once Sherwood Forest - the hunting grounds of the King and his Court.... Some CUTTS were connected with the Church, both Non-Conformist and Anglican. Many CUTTS were beersellers/victuallers and wine merchants. Others were in the Milling/Malting - which is obviously connected. Others were lace makers/framework knitters, farmers, ag. labs and miners, etc. CUTTS emigrated to all corners of the globe and we are attempting to help descendants find their ancestors where we can.
