Samuel (4) Cutts and Mary Catherine (7) Woodward are a set of my great great grandparents. Samuel is descended from Robert Cutt(s), an Englishman who lived for a time in the West Indies and settled in Strawberry Bank (now Portsmouth, New Hampshire) soon after 1646. Samuel was born in Kittery, Maine, and died in Buxton, Maine. Catherine is descended from Richard (1) and Rose lnu Woodward, who sailed from Ipswich on 10 April 1634. Richard took the freeman's oath in Watertown, Massachusetts in September 1635. Catherine was born in Newton, Massachusetts and died in Pittston, Maine. I have followed this website for about a year, and this is the first item I have seen dealing with the American branch of the Cutts family. I going away for about a week, but expect to be back at my computer by the end of November and will be interested to hear from any other descendents of Robert Cutt(s) of StrawberryBank/Portsmouth.
