    1. [CUTTS] William Cutts b.1813

    3. Hi - for those with Radford area Cutts relatives: I have a William Cutts. b.c.1813 at Bilborough an Enginer Feeder at the Lace Factory in 1861, living at Park Street, Lenton, in 1861 census. He was then married to a Mary b. Wollaton c. 1812. There are two possibilities:- Wm. Cutts m. Mary Slack at Wollaton 25.4.1831 or William Cutts m. Mary Needham 3.4.1834 Nottingham. Can anyone prove/disprove either of these marriages please from their own researches. I have drafted a family for William and Mary Cutts: 1. John b.c. 1873 at Wollaton - later at New Radford. On 12.2. 1877 he was mentioned in the Probate of William Cutts, 36 Mount St., Engineer, died 24.1.1877 poo to John Cutts, New Radford, Provision Dealer, son of deceased, and Samuel Cockayne Tomlinson, Schoolmaster, of Wrotham, Kent. A Memorial Index might show where this William was buried - probably General or Church Cemetery 2. Elizabeth, b.c. 1840 Whitwick, (Nr. Ashby de la Zouch) 3. Enoch, b.c. 1845 Whitwick, 4. Mary Ann, b.c. 1850 Whitwick, 5. Emmeline/Emily b.c. 1858 Lenton 1871census at 7 Hutchinson St. St. Marys, 3529/59 Just William, Mary and Emmaline. I am inclined to think that this William b. c.1813 is the son of William Cutts bapt.8.6.1773 Arnold, grandson of William Cutts and Mary Leaper, and gt. grandson of John Cutts and Hannah Wakefield. I believe he married Elizabeth Brown, b.c. 1774 at Draycott (bapt 4.7.1774 Wilne) at Bingham on 14 January 1795. William and Elizabeth were living at StrettonYard, Radford in 1841 living close to Thomas Cutts (Boatman) This would seem to indicate canal-connected families. As you are all aware, these Radford Cutts are a pesky lot, particularly the ones who seem fairly regularly to have gone 'walkabouts' along the canal routes... All suggestions welcome. Thanks Mavis
