    1. RE: [CUTTS] Coventry CUTTS - Derbys 'Cutter' connection ?
    2. Thanks for the suggestions Mavis - any help much appreciated. I have just found another clue - an Elijah CUTTS bought a grave [mid 1800's] for my CUTTS family in Coventry - he wasn't from Coventry so was likely a rich relation. There were Elijah's from Derbys. With a religious slant, incl. Aaron, Derbys is my 'favourite' link so far. Also, the original CUTTS in Coventry was Joseph CUTTS born abt.1754 - he was an apprenticed 'Cutter' Swordsmith/Gunsmith so must be on apprenticeship rolls somewhere [not Coventry]. There was a Joseph CUTTS born Derbys abt that time in Derbys. I also think many people [unknowingly] move house to live amongst their 'roots' - probably why as a Coventry Kid, I'm now down here in Cornwall [WILLIAMS - slater/tilers, no Welsh roots found] I have a Coventry cousin who has lived all his life near Chesterfield, Derbys - he feels 'at home' there - I note many CUTTS were from that area and were 'Cutters'. Hi William, Aaron is a not very common name among the Cutts.CUTTS, there are only 4 shown in the 1881 census East Midlands area, and 6 nationally - see below. I would place a bet that they came from Derbyshire via Staffordshire; we are finding more connections in the Staffordshire area which we had previously not known about. Do not ignore the canal connections which would afford opportunities to travel cheaply. Good luck.
