They have quite a record of other boatmen besides the Shardlow family.You wont see the names on the site,but they will reply to an e mail. I only found the Derby link to my history about 2 weeks ago,but have learned so much about the people and places. My family ''Street'' ended up In Norfolk,and trying to understand why was the learning part. My Family were In Derby the same time has yours,and the mystery of where they went Is easy to explain. It was about that time that the railway arrived In the area and the boatmen lost there trade. So they headed South,I found by tracing the route of the canal I have found others with the family name born en route."
