It occurs to me that there may be a Will in the PRO for the Mr. Cutt, of Cheapside, London, Employer of Thomas Carter in 1591. Has anyone looked at the Index of Wills for that date? I obtained a Will of one of my other ancestors (Taylor) in the 1600s and it was an absolute mine of information. Circa 1912 a Mrs. Archer (nee Mary Hadfield) Cutts from Stretton, Derbyshire, emigrated to New Zealand after the death of her husband. She was his second wife m.1871q3 Chesterfield. Four of her sons also went to New Zealand and were farmers out there. It may be that the A.Cutts who emigrated in 1899 came from this family.
