Forwarded from another list Sharing, Caring, and Paying --Suzi Plooster [email protected] I always find it interesting to receive requests for my genealogy information and usually I always try to help people with their requests. I often answer queries on different mail groups. I am always happy to share the work of my labors. However, what I find perplexing is that so few who receive the information are willing to carry their share of the load. The work that I have done over 14 years has carried with it a very large price tag. I now request that everyone I share information with pay for the postage on the packets of materials and pay me 10 cents per page for copying. This barely covers the expense of the actual materials and, of course, my time and research are gained free. Yet, so often the requester tells me they do not want it if they have to pay for it. Surely they should realize that I have initially born the costs of this research and paying for postage and copying is a very minimal amount. Folks who request information should be willing to pay their own way, and not think that now because all the hard work has been done it is always free to them. Yes, I know that information posted on the Web is often free. However, I choose to keep control of my information and feel that it too needs to be honored. However, I have given information out and later find that they have posted my information on the Web without my permission and with out attributing the researcher who did the work. Every genealogical searcher whether on the Internet or in private transactions needs to be willing to: 1. Pay your own way. 2. Acknowledge receipt of all materials promptly. 3. Thank the giver for all the information. 4. Ask permission of the researcher from whom you received the information if you may post it on the Web. 5. If permission is given the researcher must be given credit for the research on the posting. Courtesy, honor, and ethics are a necessity in sharing genealogical information. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Hi everyone There weren't many Cutts buried in this period, but here are the ones that I found:- 5 Nov 1736 William Cutts of Clipstone 2 Nov 1737 William Cutts of Clipstone 5 Nov 1737 Ruth Cuts of Clipstone 3 Jan 1739 Ann Cutts of Clipstone There were a couple of baptisms I saw (even though I was looking for burials!) 19 April 1752 Samuel son of Samuel Cutt of Budby bapt. 15 May 1752 Ann daughter of Georg(e) Cutts of Edwinstowe bapt. Ray
Hi Ray, Thanks for those. The final two, Joseph and Mary look promising. My 5 x Great Aunt Mary WILKINSON (age 21) of Warsop, married Joseph CUTTS (age 20) of Clipstone, at St Mary's Cuckney on 16th January 1752. The ages at death of Joseph 68 in 1799 and Mary 79 in 1810 certainly look about right. Mary WILKINSON was baptised at St Peter & St Paul's Warsop, on 8th January 1730. Hi Ray & List, Ray, Thanks very much for your email and the posting you made to the List. Thomas Chr 21 Feb 1836 at Birmington, Derby was my 2 x Great Grandfather and he came to Australia. He left Liverpool on 5 Sep 1856 and arrived Melbourne 30 Dec 1856 on the Acadia. He died 1 Mar 1899 at Coburg (a suburb of Melbourne). William died 10 April 1846 aged 49 not 19 son of Samuel and Kitty buried 17 April. I do not yet know of William, Samuel or Kitty. Hannah died 5 March or December aged 66 buried 9 March or December - from Mansfield. Born abt 1792. This could be my 4 x Great Grandmother? I have a Robert CUTTS and Hannah that were the parents to: - 1. Enoch CUTTS Chr 31 Oct 1813 in Birmington, Derby. To date I cannot ID a marriage or a death. 2. James CUTTS (my 3 x Great Grandfather) Chr 12 Jan 1817 at Birmington, Derby. Married Mary Allwood WOODWARD 24 Dec 1834 at Birmington, Derby. James died 29 Jan 1871 at Birmington, Derby. I have no death info on Mary. They had 2 children to my knowledge: - a. Thomas CUTTS who came to Australia. b. Amelia CUTTS Chr 19 Nov 1837 at Birmington, Derby. To date I cannot ID a marriage or a death. There may have been more children that I do not know about. 3. Sally CUTTS Chr 21 Sep 1817 at Birmington, Derby. To date I cannot ID a marriage or a death. Hello everyone Following on from the Notts FHS list of headstones I have the Cutts burials at St Mary's, Edwinstowe, Notts from 1809 to 1885. Samuel 7 June 1811 Clipston aged 85 years. Ann 3 July 1830 Clipstone aged 12 days. James 16 Dec 1832 Clipstone aged 70 years - died 15 Dec. Charles 31 March 1833 Clipstone aged 33 years. John 14 Dec 1834 Mansfield aged 40 years. Samuel 25 April 1836 Carburton aged 72 years. Kitty 11 October 1838 Carburton aged 68 (Samuel's widow) Lucy 9 March 1845 Clipstone aged either 10 or 70 years! William 17 April 1846 Holyfields, Heanor, Derbyshire 49 yrs - on his headstone "in his 19th year" misread perhaps. Son of Samuel and Kitty. Henry 18 Feb 1847 Southwell 10 weeks Hannah 2 June 1852 Eastwood aged 56 years, wife of William died 29 May. Thomas 1 Feb 1853 Clipstone aged 53 years. Joseph 9 Feb 1858 Clipstone - no age given and Edwinstowe crossed out in book. Hannah 9 Dec 1858 Mansfield aged 66 years - headstone gives "died 5 March 1858 aged 66" could be my mistake on "December"as the registers are often very faint. Henry 26 Nov 1860 Carburton aged 54 years. There are none that I found 1860 - 1885. Ray
I am fairly new and very inexperienced to genealogy. I have started to trace my roots, and have got back as far as Robert Cutts who was born in Sneinton, Nottingham in 1844 (later married Sarah Waterfall). At least I think he is one of my ancestors. Now I was looking at an exhibition on the history of Nottingham Castle which contained reports of two men involved with the burning down of the castle in 1831. One of the men was ROBERT CUTTS. He was convicted and hung for his crime. Is anyone able to tell me if there is any connection between the two Roberts ?? Regards Dave Cutts

Greetings, I've been working on a project of transcribing vital records from the old newspapers of San Benito Co., CA -- the other day I ran across this & thought the CUTTS list might like it. I'm not related to these folks (as far as I know), but I do have some CUTTS in my family tree. Hope this helps someone, Dee ********************************** >From The Free Lance Hollister, San Benito Co., CA 7 Dec 1894, p. 1 -- CUTTS-HAIN Nuptials -- Thanksgiving morn dawned bright and beautiful over Bear Valley, one of those lovely little valleys for which California is so famed. But long before the suns rays had touched the mountain tops the inmates of a modest home were up and stirring. The occasion was one of no little importance and the event about to take place meant much in the lives of two persons and those connected with them. One of the rooms had been suitably decorated with ferns and flowers. Time sped on and at 8 oclock a few relatives and friends of the principals had gathered there. At a few minutes past 8, Albert W. CUTTS led Miss Carrie HAIN before the assemblage, and Elder MORSE with the simple but impressive marriage ceremony of the Presbyterian church, pronounced them husband and wife. After congratulations an adjournment was made to the dining room where under skillful hands a bountiful repast had been spread of which after partaking all voiced the sentiments of the grooms father, who wished he could do it all over again. At half past 9 the happy couple started for the train enroute to Pacific Grove for a short honeymoon after which they will be at home at the Riviera Orchard near Live Oak, Sutter county. We will not attempt to describe the brides dress as we are not versed in the language used in the Delineator. Suffice to say it was elegance itself. The presents were numerous and costly. There were present, besides the contracting parties, Mr.&Mrs. A.D. CUTTS, of Marysville; Rev. Mr. MORSE, of Hollister; Miss Nellie SNOWDEN, of San Jose; Mr.&Mrs. John HAIN; Mrs. Wm. HOOTON, Mr. Guy HOOTON, Miss Mabel HOOTON, Mr.&Mrs. A.T. HAIN, Mr.&Mrs. J.B. ROOT, Mr.&Mrs. S.C. HAIN, Misses Mary and Sadie HAIN, Masters Frank and John HAIN and Misses Edna and Effie ROOT. p. 8 -- Married -- CUTTS-HAIN -- at the residence of the brides parents, Bear Valley, this county, Thursday, Nov. 29, by Rev. Mr. MORSE; Albert W. CUTTS, of Liveoak, Sutter county, to Miss Carrie J. HAIN. [The bride is the charming daughter of Mr.&Mrs. John, of Bear Valley and we but re-echo the wish of scores of friends that the happy pair may never know what adversity means, and that no clouds may ever darken the journey through life just begun. After the honeymoon Mr.&Mrs. CUTTS will make their future home at Riviera Orchard, Sutter county.] Transcribed by: Dee: CASanBenito0001 http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/CA/SanBenito/index.html http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/usa.html
THIS MESSAGE DOES NOT CONTAIN AN ATTACHMENT Hi Listers, Sorry to be using this list for "an advertisment". I was wondering if the gentleman in Australia researching Charles CUTTS & Flora KNAPP would kindly contact me offlist please.
