I wish to add to this email to correct two more mistakes in the MEIKLEHAM connection to John CUTHERSON and Ann GRAHAM descendant chart. Mary STRACHAN m. to James MEIKLEHAM is NOT THE DAUGHTER of Janet CUTHBERSON AND James STRACHAN. Mary was living with Janet Cuthbertson and James STRACHAN in both 1861 and 1871 census in Renton, Dunbartonshire. The Mary STRACHAN m. to James MEIKLEHAM began having children in 1869 and 1870 when Mary, dau. of James and Janet STRACHAN was living at home with her parents. The Mary STRACHAN who m. James MEIKLEHAM is of another parentage. I wish I could find the person who sent this descendant chart because they traced the James STRACHAN/Janet CUTHBERTSON line all the way into America for more generations and it is ALL WRONG and get this lineage straightened out instead of a wrong lineage floating around out there. Someone did a lot of searching on this family but got it all wrong because of one person in the line who was not related to the STRACHAN family who went to America. I am writing all of this in hopes of being able to correct this information. The person who sent it to me would not identify himself/herself so I cannot contact them personally. A second mistake in this lineage is the son James, Jr. of James and Janet STRACHAN who died in America and it is recorded that his widow was Mary. James died unmarried and Mary was m. to another James Strahan living in Chester, PA who died and is not connected to our Scotland Strachan family. FHL Film #6035516. There are no records that prove that Mary STRACHAN, dau. of James and Janet STRACHAN was ever married to James MEIKLEHAM. They did not ever live in the Parish and no records of Mary existed except for two census when she was 4 and 14. Mary dau. of James STRACHAN and Janet CUTHBERTSON died unmarried.
