Greetings, Cuthbertson fans: According to "Register of Marriages and Baptisms performed by Rev. John Cuthbertson, Covenanter Minster, 1751 - 1791. . .", the journals mention the baptism of 6 children of Kaesy Trapp over 4 visits to the Wallkill Valley, Ulster County, NY (now Orange County), 1760-1774. The father is referred to as "Kaesy" and as "Kaesy (Henry?)". Is anyone familiar with the journals, enough to explain where the "Kaesy (Henry?)" reference came from? There's an early Covenanter named Henry Trapp from the Wallkill Valley mentioned in "History of the Reformed Presbyterian church in America: with sketches of all her ministry, congregations, missions, institutions, publications, etc ." The entries date from the same Covenanter visits to the Wallkill Valley. * Are Kaesy & Henry the same man? * Did the information on Covenanter history given in the "History of the Reformed Presbyterian church. . . " come from the journals? * Are the journals transcribed beyond the genealogical information presented in the "Register of Marriages and Baptisms. . ." so I can see what the references to Henry are like in toto? * If not transcribed, where are the journals currently archived? He was born Circa 1815 in North Shields, Northumberland and died 29 June 1887 in London, England. He was married to Mary Arkley and I would not have found her unless I had made the connection between my grand uncle Ernest Arkley Cuthbertson's middle name. My grandfather's name was David Peters Cuthbertson--the same as his grandfather's (a son of Edward and Mary) and thus another middle name that is a last name. Two other children of Edward and Mary Cuthbertson carried middle names that are last names--Cook and Cooper. The thing is, I cannot reach back in my Cuthbertson branch because I cannot find the connection of those names. I do not know the names of Edward Hedley Cuthbertson's parents--I have not found a birth date or baptismal certificate for him. I am wondering whether he perhaps was born in Scotland rather than Northumberland. I realize that there are many Cuthbertsons, Arkleys, and Hedleys in the Tynemout! h area and just over the Scottish border.
