On the 1851 census Robert Cuthbertson was a lodger with Margaret Johnstone's family in High Church, Paisley - they weren't married yet. He is recorded as being born in Dum/Dunbarton and I think it says Renfrew after it - it is a bit hard to make out. I am trying not to get too excited - it would be great if this was his parents. Do you have any other info. On Robert's marriage certificate (2nd marriage) his father is listed as a Contractor. On Scotlandspeople I found a copy of Robert's first marriage to Margaret Johnstone in 1851 from Old Parochial Register of Paisley High Parish in Renfrew. They had a daughter Mary born in 1851 but I can't find a record of her birth - know they came to Belfast and had two more daughters Caroline born about 1858 and Margaret born 1865. It would be great if this were Robert's parents as I have been searching for a long time. Hope to hear soon. Lorna

I noticed there is a Robert Cuthbertson with a father James Cuthbertson. My ancestor Robert Cuthbertson's marriage certificate shows his father as John Cuthbertson. I have also read the message saying a John Cuthbertson married around 1811. I am wondering if he had a son Robert as I estimate my Robert must have been born around 1828-1832.
