Hi Suzie,You could try taking a backup, then noting the count of individuals in your main index and then doin an index check from the baptism form. This can delete and recreate main index entries. Hopefully the total number of people in your main index will increase. Nick In the Master Index there is little box above the first record no 1 .... this shows the Field chooser list .... you will see there are user field 1 to 10 .... these are fields that YOU can select to match against the ones inported by your GEDCOM (besides the default ones). You need to select the GEDCOM database and match any of the UserFields against the ones you imported (except those which are the Default ones) Once you have done that then go into the MASTER Index and click on the little box again and tick the userfields you have selected in the GEDCOM database. These Userfields should now appear in the main index. This applies not only to the GEDCOM But any other database and imports you can use (ie Excel imports etc) Hope this gibberish helps ! This I transferred to the GEDCOM Folder on Custodian and all the birth, marriage and death dates have appeared as in my Family Tree programme, together with all locations. However, when this information (around 1,550 records) transferred to the Master Index, none of the dates or locations appeared, just a note saying "GEDCOM Record". This makes it difficult to match with other records, especially when I have several people with the same name but from different time frames, such as I have 19 instances of Ann Leppard, all but four being GEDCOM Records. Is there a simple fix to be able to transfer all the dates and locations from the GEDCOM Folder to the Master Index? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Ah Yes, I had discounted this initially because of the "Workhouse" label, but if I rename "Name of Workhouse" with "Name of Institution" then I think with a little modification it will do just fine.
