I was just trying to help prevent a confusion of the two women named Lucinda Jane Curtis and save you wasted time tracking the incorrect lineage. I checked the IL State Archives web page and on line information and they have the IL Death Index for the years 1916-1950 on line. There are quite a few men named Joseph Phillips listed. If you know the county where he lived it may narrow the search down considerably. Here is the web page, you can search and see if anything looks worth investigating. There is a death listed for a Joseph Gene Phillips in Woodford Co IL in 1928, this is the only "Joseph G" given, and then there are about 15 other Joseph Phillips who died in various counties between 1916-1950.
