He md 2) Martha Wilson, b 1768, who named a son Orsamus Curtis after a brother Orsamus Wilson. Edmund lived Kinderhook and Cherry Valley NY, He may have died in the War of 1812, killed near Fort Erie, Sep. 1814. He was in Montgomery Co. (NY?) in the 1790 census. Possible sons named John C. and Enos." My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather was named Orsemus. He had to have been born in the late 1700's, as his sons Barton and John were born in 1816 and 1822 respectively. Barton was born in Canada, and John was born in Ohio, possibly Richland County. In the 1850 census in Berrien Co. MI, in the 10th Division (whatever town that was) lived Barton, John, and an Orsemus, but that Orsemus was born abt. 1803 in NY, so I figure he's got to be related to my Orsemus as Orsemus Curtis is not a common name. That's what I'm trying to figure out, is the connection. Then there's this Stephen Curtis, of NY, whose sons from his 3 wives ended up in Cass and Berrien Counties. They too in 1850 lived in the 10th division. Then some of them moved to Cass Co. The younger Orsemus (the one born abt. 1803 in NY) has a son named Edmond, I found in 1850 and 1860 censuses. I'm just trying to figure out how they connect to Barton & John's father, also named Orsemus Curtis. I don't know anything about him, other than wife's first name was Pilegg/Filegg, according to Barton's death record in Berrien County. Kelly Kahlau
