Yes, this is the same guy I just had never heard that he had lived in Illinois. I have his (second)wife's name as Icelid D. T. Blakeley. I had always imagined that she also had been married before and either the D. or T. was another married name. Apparently the D. is for Delia and the T. remains a mystery. Chauncey was a traveling salesman for the Comstock Castle Stove Co. of St. Lewis as well as a tinner. He and my grandfather, Edwin F. Curtis owned a tin shop in Quincy, Ohio in the 1870's. I believe he learned this trade from his father in law, Blakeley. Also, as you say, his father Lyman Curtis was born in Burlington, VT 1806 (I can't find the name of Lyman's parents) and Lyman's wife Rachael Chrispel b 1818 Camillus, Onondaga, NY. Many thanks and I will appreciate any other information you may be able to furnish to me. vern -----Original Message----- From: Genie [mailto:genielists@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2004 10:58 PM To: CURTIS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [CURTIS] More on Chauncey Curtis (1900, 1880) 1900 > Illinois > ADAMS > 1-WD QUINCY Series: T623 Roll: 235 Page: 320 CURTIS CHAUNCEY 58 M W MI IL ADAMS 1-WD QUINCY 1900 Age and birthplace suggest this is the same guy, but wife is Delia (not Icelid), age 50, b NY, md. for 35 yrs.
