My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather was Orsemus (sp?) CURTIS. His wife's first name was Fileg/Pileg. I know for sure they had AT LEAST 2 sons, John Gilbert CURTIS and Barton Israel CURTIS. John was born in OH (possibly Richland Co.) and Barton was born in Canada West. John was my gr-gr-gr-grandfather. Both sons settled in Berrien County, MI. John married Diana OLIN. Barton married Betsy WILLARD. I had a volunteer help me with my Curtis family a year or two ago, and she changed her e-mail address. I saw she had a new one, wrote her there, and the e-mail was returned as no such person. When she was helping me, she found a younger Orsamus (whom I assume was Orsamus Jr.), as well as some other Curtises, but my e-mails I saved from her got lost when my computer crashed. Now working on my Curtis line again after contacting a new cousin, I found the other Curtises and need to know how they all connect. They include the following: Roswell CURTIS (born abt. 1809/1810 in Canada West), Benjamin CURTIS (born abt. 1800 in NY), Stephen CURTIS (born abt. 1804 in NY), and then there's Orsamus CURTIS (Jr.?) born abt. 1803 in NY. They all lived (some time in one county and then the other) in Cass and Berrien Countiesin Michigan. My cousin found something on the internet about a Stephen Curtis, whose son Solomon came to Berrien Co. MI with his half-brothers, from NY (and then he moved to Cass Co. MI). I also found Solomon in the 1850 census, living with a Stephen Curtis, who would probably be his older 1/2 brother. My point to all of this is this...I need to find out how all these men relate to my Orsamus Curtis. They were ALL in the same town in Berrien Co. in 1850, not far from each other. In fact Roswell lived close to my Barton. They were all pretty close in ages. Barton's daughter, Philena CURTIS also married Wellington PATTERSON, who was brother to Tryphena PATTERSON, who was wife of Roswell CURTIS. Can anyone help my cousin and I, PLEASE, sort this out and figure out how they all relate? If so, you can leave message here or send me an e-mail at CatzNBearz71@aol.com. Thank you! Kelly
