This information from the Coles County History Book submitted by my grandmother; In 1864 (Charles Curtis) married Martha Isabella Hanner born 1844 in North Carolina, died Jan. 1874 in Coles County. (buried in Fairview cemetery) They had 5 children one dying in infancy leaving Sarah Rosetta born April 9 1866, died Sept. 29 1867; Lucinda J. Eads,born July 24 1869 died June 19 1949 and Roddy Ellsworth born July 11 1871 died at an unknown date in California. A fifth child is not listed in the book. I do have a copy of the family bible but I will have to look for it and I could get you that fifth name if it wasnt an error. I think my grandmother a Curtis by marriage just didnt have the info. Im sure its in the bible. Now Martha-this is a long one ready??? HANNER Roddy Doak Hanner was born in 1817 and dies in 1895 and Anna Eliza Ward was born in 1820 and dies in 1897. They were married in 1839 in Greensboro, Guilford County North Carolina. They came to IL in the fall of 1858, traveling 6 weeks by team of horses and wagon. They settled in Elbridge, IL, then moved to a farm southeast of Oakland. They lived in a log cabin with an earth floor, driving stakes in the ground nailing clap boards to them for a table. They brought a nephew of Eliza's, Issac Newton Ward, who later married Hesteretta Campbell. The Hanners had 6 children born in NC Lyda Jane(this is how it is listed in this book for the spelling not a typo),who married John Wright; Sarah Elizabeth married David Zimmerman; Martha Isabel(spelled different than above I can always check the grave) married Charles Curtis; Mary Marttisha married Webb Murphy Raobert married Jane Clapp and Peter married Elzina Blair. In IL 7 more children were born Joseph who married Mary Whitlock; Elizabeth married John Powers; Rachel married Francis Sheilds and later John Hoffhines; Rachel's twin brotherWilliam Roddy who married Rozanna Buckler and later married Maggie Day; Margaret Ida married John M Wright; Oliver married Fannie Starr; James Albert married Rose Hollis and 2 children died in infancy. (WHEW! stick that in you family history LOL) It goes on to list decendants of those marriages. I know that some wehre (yes I will have to search again )there is a listing of a will of RD Hanners will that lists Lucindas children as heirs along with some others.
