I have been hit by a ton of fraudulent emails from people claiming to be attorney's from Curtis relatives that were killed in a car accident overseas and since no heirs can be found, that they are contacting Curtis' found on the internet to receive the inheritance of approx. 9 million dollars. Are others of you also receiveing these emails? I"m not sure how my email address became available other than thru these postings and just wondered if others of you were also receiveing these emails. My husband is an attorney and unfortunately, has had a few clients that were actually victims of this scam. I would be happy to provide the details of how the scam works if you are interested...I hope none of you have been caught in this trap and am wishing you all the best in 2004. Regards, Amy Curtis BAstida
You don't have to be a Curtis to get that one. I get the same details, but for the Ortiz name. I just delete them. Since these emails sound like they could constitute a probable fraud, they can and should be copied and reported to your email provider and your ISP provider, and they should be forwarded, like all unwanted commercial email (spam), to the FTC at UCE@FTC.GOV For more info, you can visit the FTC site at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/spam/ --- Barb Ortiz <bortiz1@rochester.rr.com> wrote: > You don't have to be a Curtis to get that one. > I get the same details, but > for the Ortiz name.
