Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TmQ.2ACIB/2370 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on a David (J.?) Curtis who was married to Emma Fleming in 1882 or earlier. Emma was born in New York about 1846, was a doctor, had lived and studied in Illinois. By 1887 I think they were in Faulkton, South Dakota and the methodist register there lists David as having died Jan. 4, 1888. As far as I know, David and Emma did not have any children--but "adopted" Emma's neice about 1882. Emma's one living "granddaughter" says David was a stockbroker who committed suicide when his clients lost their money. Can anyone out there identify who this David Curtis was? Thanks in advance for any help!
I am the host for Faulk County genweb and have two Faulk Co History books -- no Curtis listed, probably the books were later, 1910 & 1982, but do you know the niece's name? Maybe her story is in the book.
