A graduate of Greeley West High School in 1972, Darby attended Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. She married Peter Curtis on May 31, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nev., and until 1979 was a resident of Steamboat Springs. Darby was a medical assistant at Aspen Medical Center in Loveland and was also an instructor for College America in Fort Collins, teaching medical assistant courses. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed being outdoors, spending time boating, playing cribbage and scrapbooking, especially for her family. Preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Wanda Ewald, she is survived by her husband, Peter Curtis; son, Tyler Curtis, both of Loveland; daughter, Meghan Curtis of Steamboat Springs; parents, Margaret Ewald of Loveland, and Art Ewald of Greeley; brothers, Jack Ewald of Denver, and Doug Ewald of Greeley; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 533 Grant Ave., Loveland. Friends may view the online obituary and sign the guest book at www.allnutt.com.
