This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Curtis, Donahue, Spaulding, Ames Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TmQ.2ACIB/2230 Message Board Post: I have an 1865 Diary with the names T.P. Curtis written in the front and Thos. Donahue, No. 17 East Central written in the back. Neither of these are my family members. The entries are farming business entries mostly. The owner appears to sell and deliver milk as well as do other farming. Tucked inside the diary is a newspaper clipping. This diary was purchased at an auction in central Illinois. Partial transcription of the clipping: "North Easton, Oct 10 - The marriage of Miss Katherine Hobart Ames, youngest daughter of Mrs. Oakes A. Ames, and Mr. Philip Leffingwell Spaulding of Philadelphia, son of Mr. James F. Spaulding of Milton took place here this afternoon in Unity church in the presence of an assemblage of relatives and friends comfortably filling the church. A large number of the guests were from Boston, coming and returning in special cars." There is much more. I'll transcribe entire wedding article for family member. Will return diary to descendant of Mr. Curtis or Mr. Donahue if someone can identify them as their family. LouAnn in NC
