His father, Francis Knapton was born in Clayton Yorkshire on 22May1847. I do not know who this Alfred Curtis is, however a photograph identifies him as Uncle Alfred Curtis. He seems to be of the generation of Francis Knapton. I believe that my grandfather wrote him and others in Yorkshire after WWI. We are still trying to locate these letters. I am hoping that Alfred Curtis married one of my grandfathers aunts. This information might help identify whose family Err Knapton belongs to. Err is the grandfather of my grandfather.
