The Moore's had come from Tennessee to Missouri probably around 1835. Both Uncle Alfred and my gr. great grandfather Squire Moore had lost their wives and were left with 6 children each. Squire and Alfred married their new wives within a short time of each other, and Squire and Celia rapidly had 5 more. The Moore's were of Quaker descent, and were originally from Frederick Va.- they came down to North Carolina and settled in a part that became part of Tennessee. They lived in Claiborn county for a number of years, and some may still be there. They were in Chariton Co. Mo., then ended up in Linn Co. Mo. for a while, and my records list Celia Anderson Curtis as being born in Tennessee, so that is probably where she and Enoch Curtis met. I copied down a lot of Census records of Moore's a few years ago-- There was a John Moore listed with wife Mary. He was from Tennessee and she f! rom Indiana. Their children were Sarah, Samuel, Jonah, James, Mary and Nancy E. and they were in Linn County in 1860. Not much help I fear, and the name Lynch Moore isn't listed in any records I have. If you have any more questions just e-mail me at ALTLYN @ aol.com. I go by Lynda. Thanks for replying!!!
