Diane, There is likely a relationship but until the lineage of your Jonathan Curtis can be determined going back to the 1600s we won't know for sure. If you can get a male cousin with the surname CURTIS to take the DNA test we would know with more certainty. Ruth Gravitt

To my knowledge, there are no surviving male members of this particular Curtis family who carry the Curtis surname. There are a few surviving males who are the offspring of female Curtis family members, including my 85 year old father. I am stuck at Jonathan's father John in my research - he was born in 1780 - so the chances of my getting back to the 1600's is quite remote. Thanks Diane
