She was born on August 10, 1906, in Stefington, Bedfordshire, England. She came over to Canada from England on a ship when she was 13 years old where she and her family settled in Emo, Ontario, Canada. This is where she met and married Joseph H. Wilson who was employed by the Canadian National Railroad. They moved to Baudette, Minnesota until he was transferred up to Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1932. In 1942, they moved to Warroad, Minnesota. After the death of her husband, she worked at the Warroad School for 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Warroad until moving to Auburn, Washington in 1981 where she attended St. Mattews Episcopal Church. She was a very active member in the Order of Eastern Star since she was 19 years old. Her many hobbies through the years were riding ! a bicycle, swimming, gardening, knitting, doing crossword puzzles and writing letters. She had many good friends, young and old, and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Curtis; brothers, Walter, Fred, Sid, Charles, and Frank; sister, Bea; husbands, Joseph H. Wilson and Conrad E. Larson, and a grandson, Brian Saurdiff. She is survived by a sister, Connie Stroble of Anaheim, California, two sons, Edward Wilson of Aiken, South Carolina, David Wilson of Auburn, Washington, and one daughter, Joyce Balcom of Bend, Oregon. She leaves nine grandchildren, Monna Maddy, Glen Saurdiff, Scott Wilson, Jim Wilson, Duff Wilson, Dana Wilson, Connie Moffat, Diane Wilson, Gary Surdiff and twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Kent, Washington, August 10th at 2pm. A service will be held in Warroad, Minnesota, on September 1! 1th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 11 am. Published in the King County Journal.
