The Burlington/Monmouth Co. NJ CURTIS family came into America directly to Burlington WestJersey in the mid-1600s (Quakers)---by 1800, some were moving South & some Westward, or into the cities of NY & Philadelphia. Your Elijah Curtis, who married another NewEnglander, may have descended from the CURTIS brothers who came in through Boston in the 1600s. Have you checked the holdings at NewEnglandHistoric&Gen.Society? Being here in Boston, I wish I had more NewEngland lines which removed to NJ, since NEHGS is has such an excellent collection (also, on-line for members) for New England records. Gloria
