He was born in Boston and was a retired naval officer. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Survivors include his wife Rosemary Sullivan; stepdaughters Sally Ring of Anaheim (California) and Sandra Van Huken of Fort Wayne, Indiana; stepsons Michael CURTIS of Huntington Beach (California); James CURTIS of Michigan; and Terry Sawyer of Lake Elsinore (California); 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
