My great-great-great grandfather was William Riley Curtis, born June 27, 1823 in North Carolina and died January 9, 1872 in Independence County, AR. He married Mary George Pruitt July 7, 1853 in Independence County, AR. Their children are: Mark Curtis (dob Jan. 21, 1855) Emily Amelia Curtis (dob Feb. 7, 1857) Nancy E. Curtis (dob Feb. 14, 1860 Martha E. Curtis (dob May 7, 1865) James Washington Curtis (dob June 17, 1866 / my great-great grandfather) Mary Jane Curtis (dob Oct. 23, 1868) Kizzah Curtis (dob Oct. 4, 1870) Feel free to contact me if this fits your line. I am wondering if this family line had descendants migrate to Lewis County, WV. My ancestor is John Curtis b. abt 1792 in the Shenandoah Valley region. I believe he may be the son of a Henry and Catherine Curtis, but have no proof. John had a brother named Alexander Curtis and another brother named Zachary Curtis. Henry had a brother named Jesse Curtis. These names must ring a bell with someone researching the Curtis lines in Virginia and West Virginia. Any help is greatly appreciated.
