Descendants of William Howell Curtis, son of James M. Curtis and Matilda Blalock, and Sallie Matilda Dalton, daughter of James Alfred Dalton and Sarah Jane Noblett/Noblitt are holding a Memorial Service for their ancestors on July 2, 2005 at the Old Fort Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. William and Sallie were buried in unmarked graves in 1917. A military headstone has been obtained for William Howell Curtis and a similar stone was purchased for Sallie Matilda Dalton Curtis. Friends and relatives are welcome to join us for the dedication of these markers. The cemetery service will be followed by a lunch in Marion, NC.
