More information on CURTIS, Ellen b abt 1862 in VA married to Thomas McGREER b abt 1849 in VA Ellen CURTIS was the daughter of CURTIS, John b. abt 1840 Kanawha County, West Virginia & NICHOLS, Caroline b abt 1838 Kanawha County, West Virginia CURTIS, John was the son of CURTIS, Peter Van Renssalaer (spelled many different ways) & DOLIN, Elizabeth (Mary) (first marriage of Peter's, he was married 3 times, 19 children). Valeria CURTIS b. abt 1858 in VA married Samuel "Sam" ANDERSON on July 22, 1881. (in the 1880 census she had an 8 month old son name of Johnny) CURTIS, Frances b. May 30 1860 married Henry Bradford RAINES, only surviving son was listed as W.E. RAINES. In 1880 Henry and Frances CURTIS RAINES were living in Loudon District, Kanawha County, West Virginia. Frances died Sept 16, 1943 in a Charleston Hospital, Charleston, West Virginia. CURTIS, Frances was daughter of CURTIS, Peter Van Renssalaer & TONEY, Jane (his second wife) Any kin out there to help us with the mystery of Ellen CURTIS who divorced Thomas McGREER and married Chapman Taylor CLARK who also divorced his wife.
