Jacob Murry b. ca. 2. Mary b. ca. 1757 3. John b. ca. 1769 d. 1850-1860 Wayne County Tenn. and married Nancy DOLANDLDON in Nc. ca. 1790 4. Elizabeth b. ca. 1775 5. James b. ca. 1776 6. Nancy b. ca. 1780 7. Sarah b. ca. 1784 8. Samuel b. ca. 1785 Randolph County was not formed until 1776 so only the last four would had been born in Randolph County. Depending on where they lived birth of the others would had been Rowan or Orange Counties Nc. Also, there was another James CURTIS b. 1765 d.? will dated Feb. 14 1795. His wife was Nancy MAST b. ca. 1757 and they ahd a son John b. June 9 1781 and Married Catherine HOOVER b. Sept. 25 1787. There was a Thomas CURTIS d. 1800-1810 Burke County I guess Nc. or Tenn. with a wife name Eleanor BRYANT . There children were: 1. Thomas Jr. 2. David b. ca. 1774 3. Moses 4. Amy 5. Benjamin This Thomas had land on the Caraway Creek which is onthe west side of Randolph County, Nc. They had a son John b. ca. 1790 Randolph County. This family moved to Burke County, Nc. ***Note**** A John Curtis d. July 4 1816 found dead at Ward Creek --- drunk, on a log, suffocated and strangled to death. This was in a coroner's report. Another reseacher sent a linage chart in 1990. His line coming down was Samuel CURTIS, Esp. 1791 Randolph Couny d. Jan 23 1859 Back Cr. Alamance County Community of Alamance,. He was a Hatter. ( I understand that Back Creek is in the western half of Randolph County while Alamance,Guilford, Randolph and Chartham Counties meet in the eastern corner of Randolph) Maybe Alamance County has a Back Creek too. Anyhow, Samuel belonged to John CURTIS b. 1760- 1770; John belonged to a Samuel CURTIS and a Samuel was a s/o of John CURTIS. Also, Amos CURTIS b. Jan 10 1782 in Randolph County, Nc. d. 1866 married Feb. 14 1807 Milly ESTES of South Cariolina. Somewhere I read that Amos had a brother name Moses. All of the above information was in the CURTIS Vertical files in the Randolph Room at the Asheboro Libery in Asheboro, Nc. I am connected to Samuel CURTIS b. May 13 1791 Randolph County, Nc. d. January 23 1859 in Randolph County, Nc. He married Nellie COBLE. I beleive that the mention John above that was found dead July 4 1816 is Samuel father. Why? Samuel CURTIS filed an Administrator's bond for the estate of John CURTIS, deceased, dated Feb. 7 1816, in Randolph County, Nc. and is from a file on the estate of John Curtis in the records of Randolph County, Nc. Information from the National Archives, national Geneological Society Quarterly, indicates John CURTIS, born June 2 1773, came from Derbyshire, England. ******Notes***** N.C.
