    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Curtis, Durgin, Grindle, Webber Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TmQ.2ACIB/2349 Message Board Post: I am a Curtis and here is my story.... My Great Grandmother was Jennie Webber of Sedgwick, Maine (Blue Hill area). Her GGrandmother was Sally Curtis b.1806, Surry, Maine (From Blue Hill, Maine Founding Families website). Sally Curtis traces back to Abijah Curtis b. 24 Sept. 1780 in Harpswell, Maine. This is as far back as I have this line. Jennie Webber moved from Sedgwick to Rockland Maine in about 1900. She married James S. Curtis Jr. (aka Sullivan Curtis) According to their marriage certificate, his father's birthplace was Winterport, Maine. According to the 1900 census of Rockland, Maine: James S. Curtis b. Jan 1854 Wife: Sophia (Durgin) Curtis b. Dec. 1857 Children: Mary b. July 1876 Orillo b. June 1878 James S. Jr. b. Aug 1880 (my GGrandfather) Ruth b. 1882 Sometime between 1854 and 1876 James S. Curtis migrated from Winteport to Rockland. In the 1960 Census of Winterport, Maine is listed the following: James Curtis b.1792 Charlotte Curtis b. 1795 James Curtis Jr. b. 1822 Lydia Curtis b. 1824 They all appear to be living in the same household. I am trying to find out if my James S. Curtis is the son of James Curtis Junior and Lydia. Lots of Curtis' in Maine - does anyone have any information on any of these Curtis'?
