Sarah gave birth to 8 children, Elbridge, Henry, Daniel, Nancy, Susan, Helen, Jane, and Rachel. Sarah and her husband are buried in the cemetary at Fort William Henry, accross from the architectural digs. I have further information on Sarah and her family and her brothers and sisters and father. I would like any and all information also on this line of the Curtis family, of which I am related.

The brothers were Daniel, Henry and I beleive the 3rd one was John (not really sure yet). Henry and Daniel went to Maine. Henry was killed by Indians. Daniel at sometime aquired a wife and went to Johns Island, leaving the Boothbay area. Johns Island is jus off Pemaquid Point. Daniel camped on Johns Island with his wife and one child for about one week, then went ashore to Pemaquid Point. He camped then built a log cabin on the south part of Pemaquid Point, just west of what is now the founders of K-Marts property (the name escapes me now for some reason). Daniel homesteaded the area from that area and down to the area of Fort William Henry. The orginal Curtis farmstead foundation still stands off Curtis road just down from the lighthouse but up fropm the hotel (Pemaquid Hotel) I am not sure how many children Daniel had, but he had another son named Daniel, born around 1746. Th! is Daniel had 15 children, all lived to adulthood. One of his children, #10 in line, was a Peter Curtis. I am a direct decendant of Peter Curtis who married Sarah S. Gray. I have all the information on this line of Daniel Curtis and of all his children and his childrens children and beyound. I am searching very hard for the history before this second Daniel and back. I have tons of information, but I can not attach them together for sure. I have information back to the 1400's in England. If anyone has more information PLEASE contact me.

Mary married a J. Cronin and had at least one son I know of, Owen Cronin. On the 1870 Census Owen is living with his uncle, Hugh Curtis, 30 years old, and Mary, 70 years old (whom I assume is his grandmother). On the 1880 Census Owen Cronin is living with his uncle, Hugh Curtis. I don't know much else about the Curtis family or Mary's parents. Any info I could get from you would be greatly appreciated. One of my ancestors was Moses Curtis b. abt 1769 possibly in Va. I think Moses died Nov 1802 in Union Co. S.C. He was my GGGGgrandfather. He had a brother Fielding W. Curtis, Sr. b. 1757 in Virginia. Fielding Sr. had a wife Charity,b.1757 and they had sons Fielding Jr. , John, William, and Moses and possibly a daughter Patty. Fielding Sr. moved to Union S.C. before 1775. He was in the Revolutionary war from 1775 to 1781. He was in Greenville, S.C. before 1810 and moved to Monoe Co., Tompkinsville Ky by 1816. He died in 1835. Charity may have died before 1860 and Fielding Sr. may have married Lenna Woods on 18 Arp, 1816 in Barren Co. ,Ky. Fielding Curtis ,Jr., b. 1789 in Culpepper Co., Va was in Boone, Missouri before 1830 and stayed there until at least 1850 where he was listed in the census as 60 years old. He was listed in the 1860 census in Callaway, Mo. where he died Feb 3, 1861. This sounds like the same group you are talking about . Do you have this information or any other info. I would be very interested in all of the info you have about this line. We've been struggling for sometime in finding a CURTIS. We don't know his first name. He married Olive FREEMAN (could be recorded as Olive BARTLETT as that was her first husband's surname) b. 7 Feb 1801, Brutus, Cayuga Co, NY. They had three children: Sarah Mariah, Silas Henry b. 28 Jun 1835, Sherman, Chautauqua Co, NY, and Caroline, b. 18 Sep 1838. Other than the last name and other than he could well have been in Cayuga and Chautauqua Counties we know absolutely nothing else of him and it's been a great mystery. We are wondering if perhaps your book could shed some light using the other data we do have. Sincerely, Mike Peterson
