Their son, Millard, was the father of my grandfather, Horatio. If anyone has come across them in their research, I would appreciate hearing. Thank you! Pat Hickey
Hi I'm sorry to interfere with your info to others but I have been searching for my Tapley Curtis born 1807 in NC, that is all I know about him, do you have anything about him? or clues where to search. Thanks Jennie556@aol,com
Charlene: I'm fairly certain of Benjamin K. CURTIS' birthday. Without knowing where he was born and having any type of certificate we could be off somewhat. His civil war enlistment papers and pension papers back up this date, but........ Did you find any other Benjamin K(ingman) CURTIS listed in your book? Any time period? Thank you so very much for your time and trouble in doing these look-ups. Mike Curtis

Terri, A few months ago someone was requesting a census look-up regarding Philo, Mary William and Langdon. Was that you? If not perhaps you could look back in the archives of the curtis web page. Dianne
To my knowledge, there are no surviving male members of this particular Curtis family who carry the Curtis surname. There are a few surviving males who are the offspring of female Curtis family members, including my 85 year old father. I am stuck at Jonathan's father John in my research - he was born in 1780 - so the chances of my getting back to the 1600's is quite remote. Thanks Diane

Am looking for anyone that would be willing to help me research my family in Copake. I have found various pieces of information on this family but am unable to put it all together. William Curtis married Clara Langdon and had at least seven children: Langdon, Mary, John W. Wells, Philo, Egbert, and Aarin. These I have found through census and also some of these names I have located in the cemetery in Copake. Can anyone help me with more sources to look? I am in the midwest and unable to get to NY until possibly next year. Would love to know if there are any cousins still connected to this family living in that area. Mary married a Shultis, Wells moved to Wisconsin, John moved to Wisconsin and then on to Iowa, Philo was married to a Maria Sabin and then later divorced, that is about all I do know for now. Appreciate any info....

Diane, There is likely a relationship but until the lineage of your Jonathan Curtis can be determined going back to the 1600s we won't know for sure. If you can get a male cousin with the surname CURTIS to take the DNA test we would know with more certainty. Ruth Gravitt
Dear Cheryl, That would be wonderful if you can get a male CURTIS from the Berkeley County, WV or Frederick County, VA line to take the DNA test. I have been working with Dick Curtis on this project and have someone from the NJ line taking it, as well as a CURTIS in Posey County, IN and my own CURTIS cousin in Winston County, AL. From my extensive research, I believe that these are all the same line going back to Burlington County, NJ. I am very excited about the possibility of verifying my theory with DNA evidence. The next participant I wanted to get was someone from your line so this is just great that you are already working on it. Yes, I am a membr of the Curtis-Curtiss Society and will be publishing an article on old Jonathan Curtis for the next issue. I had to carefully choose what out of all the information I collected to build my circumstantial case would be in the article. It would actually take a book to show all the connections and aspects of this subject. It has been my pet project for a few years now. Ruth Gravitt

Hi Cheryl - Looks like you got home from the reunion okay. Did you make the concert? Looks like you are getting some good info on ur family if that is the line out of NJ. Lotta Blue is a great name! Was it ever passed down thru the generations? Regards, ghc.
Dianne, The only information that I have on Jonathon son of Job was that he was married to Lotta Blue September 19, 1807 in Berkeley County, Virginia/WV. Sorry I don't know more, that is why I am asking for help and hoping that someone will recognize the names and know that this is their CURTIS line also. Are you a member of the CURTIS/CURTISS Society? I just rejoined and went to the reunion in Williamsburg last Saturday. Lots of new and interesting things going on and they are working on the DNA testing, hope that shows how some of these lines are tying together. We are trying to get someone from our CURTIS male line to take the test and see if we have any matches.
