My GGGgrandfather Elijah Curtis was born 7 February 1770 in Ashe Co., North Carolina. He lived in Anderson, Campbell and Lincoln Counties, Tennessee from 1810 - 1823. He moved to Ray Co., Missouri with his family by 1830. Elijah's oldest daughter, Eleanor Curtis, married Lynch Moore around 1820 in Tennessee. They moved along with Elijah to Ray Co. The parents of Lynch Moore were John and Mary Adcock Moore. Possibly Enoch could of been Elijah's borther. Do any of these names or places fit with what you already know?

They also came from Missouri, and before that perhaps Tennessee. My great great grandfather, Squire Moore married a Celia Curtis, widow of Enoch Curtis, about 1834-35. Celia Anderson Curtis had 4 children: Eliza, born about 1826, John Calvin Born about 1828, David Ervin born about 1830, and Thomas Jefferson Curtis Born about 1832. John Calvin married Squire Moore's daughter Easter Ann (Born 1822) and they had 10 children. I do not know their names, but I am working on it. Squire also had a daughter named Lucinda Jane, born 1831. Lucinda Jane married a Sam Sumner, but since she and Thomas Jefferson were so close in age, and since people seemed to name their children after relatives, perhaps there is a connection between your "perhaps" Thomas and this Lucinda Jane. Perhaps not too, but there are some coincidences. My branch of the Moore family moved to Oregon in 1879, but there were a lot of pictures, some ! tintypes, of Curtis family members. I have been hoping someone would answer my message about Enoch Curtis and fill in some of the blanks.
