Julia, My Samuel Curtis was born 1777 in Chislet, county of Kent, England. He married Sarah Lewis and they had a total of 15 children (five of whom came to the US). Unknown as to his date of death (his last son, Daniel was born in 1828). Any ideas? Pat, I am a decendant of William (Edward's younger brother) who both married Susanna Smith. Have considerable data regarding the Curtis' of Rome twp, Lenawee, MI but could use some Moses / Jackson, MI info... Have you uncovered details regarding Elizabeth (Curtis) Rigden - Moses's sister? My understanding is she came to the US with Moses in 1853 (Moses's teenage daughter Harriet die enroute at the Welland Canal) with her husband, James and eight children. I have found but one - George W (Civil War Vet and close friend of William)... He is mentioned in William's probate of 1870. Let us compare notes... I wasn't aware of the other named children, besides James Henry & Louisa.Supposedly James H and Annie Curtis lived on Lafayette in Lexington in the 1920s.
Dear Researchers of Curtis, I am looking for the ancestors and descendants of John Curtis and his wife Anne Curtis from County Meath Ireland. Their son James Curtis was born in 1822 at Hernestown which we believe should be Heronstown Co Meath. He married Jane Smith b 1842. They immigrated to Milton NSW Australia in 1866 with their infant son Thomas. They had a further 9 children. He died there in 1901 and is buried in the Sandbridge cemetery at Mollymook near Ulladulla NSW. Any help would be appreciated David Morrison
