    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Curtis Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TmQ.2ACIB/2170 Message Board Post: Hello all. I'm looking for descendants of John Thomas Curtis and his wife Mary Bailey Curtis, who landed in Boston 1829, and settled in MA. John Thomas was buried in Newton, Middlesex Co., in 1849, as were a couple of his children (but I don't know who!), and was survived by his sons William A Curtis and George P. Curtis. Wm. A moved to California and became well known, so has been easy to find, but George P (and any other surviving children) less so. George P. Curtis married Hannah Hall Greene, and had children Ella Georgia, William, Edward Allen, Perry, Addison, Benjamin and Gorgianna(?) born in MA between about 1855 and 1870. Has anybody come across any of these people? I know there are a lot of Curtises in MA, so wondered whether anybody had found any of these folk and wondered who they were. My website containing a bit more information is at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~curtois/america.html Thanks, Chris

I was just trying to help prevent a confusion of the two women named Lucinda Jane Curtis and save you wasted time tracking the incorrect lineage. I checked the IL State Archives web page and on line information and they have the IL Death Index for the years 1916-1950 on line. There are quite a few men named Joseph Phillips listed. If you know the county where he lived it may narrow the search down considerably. Here is the web page, you can search and see if anything looks worth investigating. There is a death listed for a Joseph Gene Phillips in Woodford Co IL in 1928, this is the only "Joseph G" given, and then there are about 15 other Joseph Phillips who died in various counties between 1916-1950. It might prove fruitful to try obtaining copies of their obituaries or death certificates. http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/GenealogyMWeb/idphdeathsrch.html
