I think Dad. I talked about a man who was worked at Ft. Peck in Montana and his dad killed himself I think after his hands got burned he was piano player. I think the Curtis Basil ws your Mom's ex husband or something like that. I moved lost my computer base and haven't researched this since 2002 when we spoke. Let me know. Thanks. Matthew Curtis (b 1743) md. Isabella Silversides. Their son Joseph (b.1781) md. Hannah Boucher. I descend from Joseph and Hannah's son Matthew Linton Curtis. MLC's sister is the Hannah Curtis whom you mentioned. This Hannah Curtis immigrated to an area near Chicago, Illinois with her father and some of her siblings in 1831. She married her cousin, another Matthew Curtis, in Illinois. I would like to learn more about the Matthew and Ann (Dawson) Curtis you mentioned. I believe that Matthew is the brother of my ancestor Joseph Curtis mentioned above but I have not been able to definitely tie them together. My paternal grandmother was Isabelle Curtis, married to William Edward Curtis (we believe); one child, Charles Edward Curtis, radio personality in Minneapolis in the 40s and 50s. Very little information on the Curtis side, though we have discovered a smattering of info. about Isabelle. I have just found my older brother this April and we believe there are other siblings out there; at the very least, however, any names, dates, or connections would be greatly appreciated. Frank and Sadie were living in Nebraska in 1910, their children were: Claude, Harley, Pearl, Merle (Merrill) Francis, Helen, Norman, Millie, and Gordon. The family later moved to Cedar Rapids Iowa. Frank passed between 1920 and 1930 and Sadie remarried to a Joseph A. Gage. Merrill may have stayed in Iowa or may have moved to Ohio, I get conflicting reports on this. I am having lots of trouble getting more information. Can't find ancestors or decendents of Merrill's siblings. Would love to either find out more on the ancestors of this family, or connect with living family members.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding this family. My great grandfathers name was Laura Curtis. DO not know the name of the grandfather. Their children were Clarence, Chester, Stu, Hellen, and Daisy. The grandfather vanished and was never heard from or talked about. It is believed that Laura came from Pa, and that the grandfather may have been Canadian. Please help!

It list no other information for any of the children. However, I have received some information as a result to my query from Doug, who had some information from sources 6 yrs. ago, that I have not yet been able to attempt to contact. These were the dates for the children of James and Nancy Mast Curtis that I received: 1). John Curtis, b. 9 Jun 1781, Randolph Co., NC 2). Elizabeth Curtis, b. 1782 NC and d. 14 Oct. 1851, m. David Hoover 9 Jul 1807 in Miami Co., OH. 3). Sarah Mast Curtis, my gggg grandmother, b. abt. 1785, m. Henry Hoover b. 1785 and d. 1861 in Nebraska. 4). James Curits, b. 1787 and d. 30 Jan 1866, m. Elizabeth Byrkett d. 25 Dec 1875. 5). Jacob Curtis, b. 1789, m. Hannah Mast, youngest daughter of John Mast, Jr. I haven't had a chance to follow up on this information yet. My trail on my ancestors in the Curtis line stop with a John Madison Curtis born 15 Nov 1813 Murfrees boro TN He had a brother Samuel and a sister Rhoda His father died about 1813 from a falling tree in Rutherford County TN. His mother's first name is Cynthia I speculate that his father's name was James because his three oldest children seem to be named after other Grand parents. Can you tell me more about John or James Curtis who are the Son's of James and Nancy. Where did you get the data on this family? Have you any dates or marriages of any of the children?

The only information I have on him is that he was born abt. 1760 and died aft. 1789. In abt. 1781 he married Nancy Mast who was born abt 1756 in Randolph County, NC and died in Oct of 1807 in Miami County, OH. Nancy was the daughter of John Mast, Sr. and Barbara Harmon. James & Nancy had at least 5 children: Sarah Curtis (m. Henry Isaiah Hoover) from who I descend, John, Elizabeth, James and Jacob. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Teri
