He arrived in Virginia on the ship "The Guifte" from London in 1622 just a few months after most of the Colonist were slaughted by indians. He served 7 years as a servant for George Sardis, Treasurer of the Virginia Company. I suppose that is the way he paid for his passage. He was in the Muster of Va. Colonies living at Mr. Treasurer's Plantation. See "Hotton's List" pages 131-252. Nowhere do I have a mention of an Edward Cummins being with him.
