I think things are gvetting a little mixed up with this line. Because my grandfather...son of Homer...swears his grandmothers name was Winifred but they called her Winnie. The fourth child was actually a boy by James' second wife in AR. His name was Darrell. Vance spelled his last name Beard. Homer also rembers a Jess Cummins that was a bigger man who was a bit on the eccentric side. Anymore help with this would be great. Oh by the way Winnie died when Homer Sr. was about 4. thats when the family was split amoungst relatives.
