Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VcQ.2ACEB/621 Message Board Post: Upon searching for my kin I have found some information I am hoping someone can relate with and help me to clear up a couple of things- I know that my GGrandfather was James Rees Cummins of Greene County, PA who was married twice. I find him and his first wife in the 1880 census in Cumberland, Greene Co, PA: Rees age 46, Mariah age 36, son William J. age14, daughter Mary R. age 12, uncle Clement Curtice age 67, and mother Lidda age 74- am I comfortable in guessing that Lidda is nee Curtice?? Then I go to the LDS family search and run Rees Cummins- all I get is born 1834 and married abt 1858 to Ann- no parents names or places other than PA- are Mariah and Ann the same person? When I run parent search James Cummins and Ann the children William and Margaret R. with fitting dates and place come up. According to the records of James' second wife Lucinda Huggins, his first wife died 5 Oct 1886 and the second marriage occured 2 Jun 1892 and 5 children were born. And finally- I can get a James R. Cummins born to Mr Cummins and Elizabeth (nee unk) 1834 Cumberland, Greene Co, PA. There are many other children listed as well. So- is Lidda/Lydia (sp different in 1870 and 1880 census) another person from the Elizabeth or is she the same? And am I on the right line or just goose chasing??????
