Debbie, Thank you for the name of Ann HOKE. I had never heard of her. I was showing George's wife as Anna E. BOLTZ, who was listed as his widow on his pension file. I figured that she must have remarried but never knew her maiden name. Looks like Ann Hoke may have married a Boltz after George's death. Do you know anything about this possibility? Do you know who her parents were or where they were from or where she and George were living when they were married? In my attempt to find the parents of Jacob Culler and Nancy Martin I have been trying to find out all I can about each of their children. It was through their son Michael's pension file that I learned Nancy's maiden name and birth and death dates. I would love to know more about the Martin family. As I go through the file I will post each bit of information which is new to me. I noticed the last time I looked that there was a couple by the name of LANCASTER who said that they had known Jacob and Nancy for a long time. I need to post them to the list to see if the family is known to any others. There were also SHERRICK and WEAVER families. I also noticed that a Hiram Shirkey enlisted with John Shirkey in the Civil War at Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa. Is Hiram a brother of John? I also have in my research notes that Susan M. "Clara" Carter (of KY) m. Peter McIntosh & Hiram Shirkey, though there is no source for that information and I don't recall if I just picked it up somewhere or what? Thanks for your help. Sally
